ABOUT IVORY LEAGUE OF PROGRESS

Ivory League of Progress was formed in November 1987 by a group of young men who had just finished from the university. Burning with the zeal to contribute their own quota to the development of society, they felt that coming together under one umbrella and looking after their own interest would enable them to become more relevant to the larger society.

The club’s Mission is “To promote the material and spiritual well-being of members and impact positively on the society”.

And the Vision is “To become a sought-after club for positive family values and promotion of a better society.”

IVORY LEAGUE OF PROGRESS HISTORY

Since its formation, the club has, apart from looking after the interests of its members, reached out to the larger society in diverse ways. These include public lectures during which contemporary issues of national interest were critically examined. Esteemed guest speakers have included then Reverend Father (now Bishop) Matthew Hassan Kukah, Professor Pat Utomi and Reverend Father George Ehusani.

We have made quality interventions in various under privileged homes in the Lagos area. They include the Pacelli School for the Blind in Surulere, Modupe Cole Home for the Handicapped in Akoka, the Old People’s Home in Yaba and the home for Women and Children with Disabilities in Meiran in Lagos State where the club is currently sponsoring on of the children at the Federal Government College, Ijanikin. The club has promised to sponsor her to the university.

In the coming years, Ivory League of Progress intend to vigorously pursue its humanitarian mandate, with the aim of leaving its landmark in the larger society.

The club’s current President is Ivorian Tunde Thani, the Managing Director/CEO of Explicit Advertising Limited, a Lagos-based communications and marketing company.
