Ivory League of Progress Take Career Counselling to Lagos Schools

As part of the Ivory Week 2024, Ivory League of Progress organised a Career Talk and counseling for selected Secondary schools in Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos State on Tuesday April 30th, 2024.  SS1 students from more than 14 secondary schools were in attendance. They include Ilupeju Secondary School, Adak College, Atunrase Senior High School,  Mushin Commercial Senior Secondary School., Idi Araba, Eko Boys High School, Birch Freeman Senior Secondary, and others.

The event which took place at the  Solomon Hall in the Olateju area of Mushin also had in attendance the representatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). The team leader, Mrs. Titi Ogunluyi, took the students through the hazards of drug addiction and advised them against falling prey to this menace. She advised them on the company they keep; the books and media they exposed themselves to; their aspirations in life; and how to help those who have fallen victim to come out of the deep hole of addiction.

Others who addressed the students were Miss Bose Thani who spoke to the students on the opportunities available in the advertising industry and the larger communication industry as a whole; Miss Nyore Ohwahwa took the students through the rudiments of ICT and what it takes to acquire the skills needed to function in this terrain. Ivorians Alex Dairo spoke on the need to acquire vocational skills to augment whatever professional certificates one may have and Abayomi Oshuntuyi to the children through the necessary qualifications required to study law.

Before the presentations, the President of the club, Ivorian Tunde Thani, welcomed all to the event and stated that the Career Day was part of the long-standing tradition of Ivory League of Progress adding value and giving back to the society
